Navel Gazing

An article I wrote for St. Matt’s monthly newsletter:

Most people’s first impression of General Convention is to say it’s overwhelming. Between the vast exhibit hall, with booths for things like Cursillo, different seminaries, vestments, and more; the daily services representing the breadth of diversity in our church; and the two legislative houses, there really is a lot going on.

I was not as overwhelmed this time since it was my second time at General Convention. I also attended General Convention in Anaheim three years ago. Like last time, I served as the assistant recording secretary in the House of Deputies. In that capacity I worked as part of a team to ensure that accurate minutes were kept of everything that happened in the House of Deputies.
